CONFIGURING MAC OS X

  1. Go to System Preferences, either on the Dock or Apple menu.

  2. Under Internet & Network, click the Network icon (not the Internet icon).

    • Next to Location:, leave that at automatic.
    • Next to Show:, make sure Internal Modem is selected.
    • With TCP/IP folder in front, next to Configure:, it should display Using PPP.
    • Next to IP address:, Subnet, and Router, it should display Provided by PPP Server.
    • Leave DNS Servers and Search Domains blank.

  3. Click PPP tab.

    • For Service Provider, type Minnesota MicroNet.
    • Next to Account Name:, enter yourusername@mm.com
      For yourusername, enter your 3-8 character username in lower case.
    • For Password:, enter your 6-8 character password in lower case.
    • For Telephone Number:, enter 952-808-2480.
    • The Alternate Number: can be blank.
    • It's up to you if the Save Password box is checked or unchecked.
    • If you want your computer to connect automatically (that is, when you open up your Web browser, e-mail, ftp package, etc.), click PPP Options, select that option, then click OK.
    • You can probably leave the rest alone.

  4. Click Proxies tab.

    Everything should be blank.

  5. Click Modem tab.

    • Next to Modem, it should display your modem by name.
    • Enable error correction, Wait for dial tone and Tone Dial should be selected.
    • It's up to you whether Sound is on or off.
    • You can probably leave the rest alone.

  6. Click Apply Now.

You are ready to dial in.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE ON ALL YOUR COMPUTERS. MAKE SURE TO RUN IT AND UPDATE IT FREQUENTLY!! COMPUTER VIRUSES CAN BE ACQUIRED THROUGH OTHER MEANS THAN E-MAIL.
