Make Netscape 8.x The Default Web Browser
|
ON A PC:
- The first time you ran Netscape 8, it should have asked you if you
wanted to make Mozilla your default browser:
- When it did, if Yes was selected, that should have taken care of
it.
- If No was selected, you'll be asked, "Netscape Browser is not
currently set as your default browser. Would you like to make it your
default browser?" every time you open it up. Simply clicking
Yes will make Netscape 8 Browser the default browser.
However if you UNchecked the box next to "Check at startup
next time, too," you WON'T be asked again. You'll have to
force it to ask you once more time by going to the Step 4 below.
- If it doesn't ask, or if the option doesn't appear, do
this to make
Netscape 8 your default Web browser:
- Open up Netscape 8.x.
- Pull down Tools.
- Select Options.
- Click General.
- In the Default Browser group box, click the Check Now
button
to have
Netscape Browser check whether it is currently set as your default
browser. If not, it displays a prompt asking whether you want to make it
the default. Click Yes to set Netscape Browser as your default
browser.
- Click OK or Save if either of those options appear.
