CONFIGURING OUTLOOK 2007 TO
ACCESS MINNESOTA MICRONET

NOTE: These instructions apply
only to Minnesota
MicroNet.
|
- Open up Outlook 2007.
- Pull down Tools, then select Account Settings.
- Click on the E-Mail tab, then click New.
- In Add New E-mail Account, click the
Manually configure server settings or additional server types box, then click Next.
- Select Internet E-mail, then click Next.
- For User Information:
- For Your Name, type in your full name; or your full name and company; or your full
name, title and company. (There's no wrong answer in this field.)
- For E-mail Address, type your full e-mail address.
- Under Server Information, you'll most likely select POP3 for
Account Type.
- For Incoming mail server, enter: pop.mm.com
- For Outgoing mail server, enter: smtp.mm.com
- Under Logon Information:
- For User Name, enter your 3 to 8 character username in all lower case (do
not append @mm.com to it).
- For Password, enter your 6 to 8 character password in all lower case.
- Do not click Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
- Do not click Test Account Settings.
- Click More Settings.
- Click on Advanced.
- for Outgoing Server port, change the number 25 to 587. Click OK.
- Click Next until it says "Congratulations..."
- Click Finish. Be sure to click Finish or the settings
won't be saved and you'll have to do this all over again.
- Once finished, the best test is to click Send/Receive, then send yourself an e-mail message. If it sends,
click the Send/Receive button once again to see if the message is in your mailbox. If it is, you've successfully
set up Outlook 2007 to access Minnesota MicroNet!
