RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

ADMINISTRATIVE/MANAGEMENT

Developed five businesses: two with partners, three as a consultant

Was a principal in organization, planning and execution of two new state and county work programs in Minnesota

Set goals and developed new curriculum for two-year Vo-Tech program

Managed two native village corporation in Alaska, developing first time budgets, mission statement and ten year goals, restructured management and accounting systems, developed investment policy and managed $3MM portfolio very successfully with one Board, managed 437,000 acres of land for one and 120,000 acres for the other, wrote Forest Stewardship Plans for both.

Managed properties for both Native Corporations including the purchase of a $7MM apartment complex in Anchorage in cooperation with another native corporation and the purchase of a apartment complex in King Salmon for the second native corporation.

Responsible for or participated in budgets of $400,000 to $2 million

SUPERVISION

Have supervised from 5 to 200 individuals at any one time in the last 30 years

Drafted and negotiated employee and procedural manuals for new departments and Native corporation

Developed and implemented various training programs in safety, OSHA, equipment operation, fire-fighting, computer software

Planned various projects, assigning personnel and equipment, delegating authority

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS

Successfully coordinated and negotiated cooperation between eight different agencies concerning use of new work program

Wrote and edited ANCSA Corporation newsletter which Doyon, Inc. CEO Morris Thompson said was the best in his region

Presented paper on county research program to forestry conference at Purdue University in 1978

Developed first shareholder meetings in villages, for ANCSA Corporation, to educate them on what and why certain activities were being done.

Presented two papers to 1994 fall, Society of American Foresters meeting in Anchorage on the Forest Stewardship Program and Native Corporations

AREA OF EXPERTISE

Natural Resource Management, specifically forestry and land management, is my educational and on the ground experience since 1966

Contracted Phase I and Phase II inventory projects with State of Minnesota

Responsible for managing from forty to four hundred thousand acres of land
